DAC® US Series: The Next-Generation in Surge Protection

The DAC® US Series are universal SPDs for the most demanding AC Power applications. The new lineup includes the DAC100US, the first DIN Rail SPD rated up to 100kA Imax, as well as the DAC80US, which supports up to 80kA Imax. They protect any single-phase, split-phase and three-phase systems up to 600 VAC from the effects of lightning and switching transients.

Generational Design

  • Innovative Design of Internal Disconnection: The internal disconnection is the essential element of safety. The new concept, in case of internal heating, allows faster cut-off and reinforced insulation after disconnection.
  • Improved Contact Quality: SPDs conduct very high impulse currents and plug-in contacts must withstand these. Material quality, increased surface area, optimized elasticity and specific surface treatment are used to meet requirements.
  • Reinforced Internal Conductors: We have reduced internal impedances, improved contacts, and simplified and reinforced conductive parts.
  • High-Performance Plastic Materials: The choice of plastic materials is guided by normative compliance (fire resistance, environment), mechanical robustness and aesthetics.

Key Features

  • MOV and GSG Technologies: The series incorporates a combination of Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) and proprietary Gas-Filled Spark Gap (GSG) technologies to maximize performance level and reliability.
  • DIN Rail Mounting: The symmetrical DIN Rail mounting allows for ease of installation of the surge protector.
  • Modular Format: Compact 18mm modules can easily be removed for replacement.
  • Voltage Selector: Avoid mistakes when replacing module.
  • Remote Signaling: This option is recommended when the arrester is not easily accessible. In case of safety disconnection of one or more modules, the internal contact switches and can activate any remote device.
  • Disconnection Indicator: At the end of its life, the surge protector disconnects from the network and must indicate its state. The indicator informs the user about the need to replace the module.
  • QR Code for Installation: The QR code refers to the product installation instruction allowing permanent availability of this essential document.
