Digital Voltage Monitor (DVM) for 230VAC Single Phase Lines DVM-230-16A The DVM-230-16A is Digital Voltage Monitor that provides permanent and/or temporary protection from Temporary Overvoltage (TOV) events on AC lines. The DVM constantly monitors the AC line and upon sensing voltages exceeding pre-programmed thresholds, the DVM will disconnect the load from the AC source. Upon sensing the AC line has returned to levels below the trigger voltages of the DVM, the unit will automatically reconnect the AC line and returns power to the load. Key Features • Supports 230VAC single-phase powerlines • Supports Load current: up to 16 A • Automatic operation: disconnection/reconnection • Operating indicator • installation on DIN rail Where to place the DVM-230-16A The DVM-230-16A digital voltage monitor is placed between the AC main service disconnect or main panel (load side) and the load being protected. Line and Neutral are connected in series (in/out) with the load. The DVM-230-16A has a maximum load current rating of 16A. The Cost of Degradation, Disruption and Destruction Exposure to temporary overvoltage's and transient surge events can cause Degradation, Disruption and Destruction to equipment and operations resulting in expensive downtime and costs of equipment repairs. ABB Motion Services conducted a recent survey of 3,125 plant maintenance managers across the globe and concluded the typical cost of an outage that lasts for an eight-hour working shift is $1m. That’s $125,000 per hour over an eight-hour working shift, which equates easily to the time usually taken to get an operation back up and running when something goes wrong.
